Revolutionary Book Format in Stores Now

New York, NY. RSUB, a multi-platform entertainment company, announces the release of LIFE IN THE GARDEN with writers and designers Eric Zimmerman and Nancy Nowacek. Using a deck of 54 pages of imagery and prose, the reader combines and recombines its pages to form new stories based on the tale of Adam and Eve.

"Unlike a regular book, when you read LIFE IN THE GARDEN you actively construct the narrative," says Zimmerman. "Instead of a single fixed story, LIFE IN THE GARDEN is more like a set of building blocks in words and pictures. The combinations are endless, but the trick is that it creates a coherent and meaningful story every time you read it."

Zimmerman enjoyed commercial success with his CD-ROM game, Gearheads, and has received critical acclaim for his computer game, BliX, and recent collaboration with Word.com, Sissy Fight 2000. Named one of Interview Magazine's "30 To Watch" in 1999 and International Design Magazine's ID 40 (40 influential designers) in 2000, Zimmerman is also President of gameLab, a New York-based game development company.

In addition to collaborations with Zimmerman, Nowacek has worked with Bruce Mau Design on several projects, many reconsidering structure and systems in design: from art catalogues to evolutionary identity systems to 'conceptual' fonts. She is also working with Marina Zurkow of O-Matic on a narrative-based series of packaging for a small record label.

"When designing LIFE IN THE GARDEN, we realized that by adding a unique illustration to the back of each page, we were adding another layer of meaning and chance to every story," says Nowacek. "The illustrations have their own language system, which when coupled with the text create an even more provocative experience."

"This is an exciting project," adds Craig Kanarick, Chief Creative Officer at RSUB. "RSUB is committed to creating innovative entertainment, and Eric and Nancy are people who embody this ideal in everything they do."
