Press | More Counterculture for the New Millennium: Second Season of "Disinfo Nation" Airs on UK Television Just when you thought the conspiracy couldn't grow any bigger, Disinformation is continuing its expansion overseas to promote the ideals of subversion for 2001. The second series of Disinfo Nation will begin airing in Britain's Channel 4 on January 11th (and every Thursday thereafter) at midnight on the 4Later segment. The Disinformation Company Ltd. is following up a successful 6-episode first season with 10 new thought-jolting episodes. The new season features more of savvy host Richard Metzger's insightful interviews with modern prophets of the underground. Says Metzger "At our first meeting with 4Later's new Commissioning Editor, Darren Bender, Darren told us he thought we'd "held back" in the first season. He said that if we weren't challenging the standards and practices department with every episode, we weren't making it "out there" enough. 'Now that,' I thought, 'is a license to drive.' Wait until he sees what is in store for the 4Later audience this time out. I don't think anybody has ever done a stranger TV series than this. " The new season looks to be even more controversial than the last - the 10 new episodes feature interviews with underground media heroes and artists from the far fringes of the art scene, plus a shocking look at the mysteries of new technologies and cyberspace. Some of the second season's subjects include: Kembra Pfahler, alternative fashion icon and lead singer in the shock-metal band The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black debuts The Wall of Vagina; cyber theorist/professor/columnist Douglas Rushkoff, author of Ecstasy Club and Media Virus, who considers his role as a corporate guru "smuggling in" counter culture ideals to Madison Ave boardrooms; Shemales; political protest group The Surveillance Camera Players, religious painters Frank Bruno and Norbert H. Kox, who discuss the upcoming apocalypse and alien invasion; weird porno, an expose of the "Satanic Underground" (not what you might think!); underground author/publisher Adam Parfrey, publisher of cult classic Apocalypse Culture; "Outsider Music"; the 10th Annual Los Angeles Fetish Ball; artist Paul Laffoley explaining his "living painting" Thanaton III and comic book genius Grant Morrison, creator of The Invisibles and NY Times best seller Batman:Arkham Asylum, discusses his alien invasion in Katmandu and how to perform a successful magick spell.
